Description
Feb 23 - 1926
Valley, seeing beautiful
Date Palm orchards,
and fields of beans etc.
This scene shows a little
section for me of the fine
Palm orchards which are
helping to make this one time
desert find a place in the
map. The wild verbena
green rampant where there
was no cultivating. We
stopped in Indio and secured
a little more food for our
lunch which was enjoyed
in the shade of a cottonwood
tree (and from the running board
of the car) near Whitewater
on the main road. Further
on had a puncture. This was
Tues. One week later we were
attending my dear Chas.
Funeral. That afternoon
again we had a second blowout
several miles out of Redlands,
where we spent the night, going
next day Feb 24 to the Orange Show
at Redlands. The next day (got home
24th 7 am) Chas took the Lincoln - Mrs
Hatchard home - came home very sick
(Our last trip - this - one -
